Ellies brand rescued

SMD Technologies has acquired the Ellies electrical brand, the company announced on Friday.

The acquisition comes three months after Ellies’ business rescue practitioner, John Evans, announced that the holding company was being liquidated.

The acquisition of the Ellies electrical brand by SMD Technologies raises significant concerns due to SMD's history of customer service issues and negative feedback. Numerous complaints on platforms like Hellopeter highlight recurring problems with product quality and service delivery, including issues with electronics that break down quickly and poor customer support response time. Given Ellies' long-standing reputation for quality and reliability, being taken over by a company with such a problematic track record could jeopardize the trust and satisfaction of its loyal customers. This acquisition could potentially tarnish Ellies' legacy given the fact that they may want to use the Ellies brand name to sell their other under performing product by just slapping the Ellies badge on it, undermining the brand's established goodwill in the market.

I wouldn't touch SMD/Ellies branded products with a 10ft pole, would probably burn your house down.

Volkano is slick branding surrounding absolutely dogwater quality cables at over-inflated pricing. They're not even certified and that shows just how absolutely **** they are. You're going to get the same with Ellies now, we're going to see an influx of Ellies branded extremely unsafe chinese electrical outlets/fittings/cables, and because of the established branding, people will be none the wiser.

Ellies was already on a downward trajectory quality-wise, this is only going to be substantially worse.
