I know the most common laws for smoking in public areas, but I'm not clear on all of them.

I work at a shopping centre in Cape Town. We have a problem with people smoking on the sidewalk outside of our shop, even though we've asked them to leave numerous times. Isn't there a law against smoking within a few feet of a shop entrance?

That's correct. Just put up a no smoking sign.

We have NO SMOKING signs inside the store, but the problem is outside the store entrance. We're not allowed to put up signs and advertising outside (centre management rules). That's why I want to know what the law says. By the way, the centre management have known about this for a few months now.

Get one of those dustbin/ashtray things that you can put at the store entrance with a no smoking sign on top.
