I have an interesting problem relating to Voice calls between 2 branch offices accross a VPN ussing 2 Smoothwall firewalls.
Setup: HYMAX (Aristel VOIP card) --> SMOOTHWALL --> I-burst ->Internet <- I-burst <-Smoothwall <-Cisco Call Manager 3
I have a VPN running between the 2 smoothies without any problems.I also have no problem making VOIP calls between the Hymax and Cisco systems via the VPN.
I am trying to add trafic shaping to the Smoothwall box on the Hymax side to give the VPN trafic priority. The first problem I had was that the only Wshaper mod I could find only installs on Kernel 2.4.26 and I already had all the Smoothie patches up to 8 installed.I then rebuild a test box with only patch3 loaded and installed the wshaper.This worked fine.VPN runs without a problem.The Cisco side can make calls to the Hymax without a problem but when I try to call from the hymax system I only get a beeping sound.I did a
wshaper stop and tried it again with the same results.I think it might be an issue with the patches on both sides that must be the same.I added port 50,51,500,1723 to the "these ports are dealt with immediately" part of the wshaper script"
Anybody have any ideas on this? Or if you know of a shaper for smoothwall that works with later kernels it would be apreciated.
