Thanks to the Librerian for all the help but im trying to figure this thing out

Do i really need to put my router in bridge mode ??

because i thought that the smoothie would pick up the internet connection on the other side ?

long day.... and big headache so ja

By putting it into bridging mode, you're actually making a modem of your router as the smoothwall will be controlling the connection.

You can keep the router as it is, but then things will be more difficult for you to configure, especially if you want to log in to your network from outside.

Thanks Bud

No wont need to log in from the outside, but didnt want to go the route of bridge mode ? but i might as well give it a try as is now i can log in via the laptop but there is no internet connection so if that were to get fixed then i could work on that ?

the user manual and admin manual seem to help but not as much as i thought
