I figured I would try to go solo on my companies VPN solution given the poor response received from service providers.
So, this is the current setup.
2 X Smoothwall pc's, one in CT and one in JHB. Both have Smoothwall Express 2.0 installed and both are connecting to ADSL via a router. Both connections to ADSL are active with MWEB ADSL.
Given our situation in SA with dynamic IP, I registered 2 dyndns accounts and syndns setup on smoothwall works well. I can remotely control both smoothwall routers.
The problem is the VPN. Does anyone know why the smoothwall interface for VPN refuses to accept the xxxx.dyndns.org addresses? I needed to change the dyndns url to resolved ip addresses before smoothwall would accept it. Even once it was resolved, I could not establish a connection.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
