SMS based competitions

Hi, does anyone know if an sms competition is illegal in RSA, where no money is offered and the prize does not conflict with the Lotteries Act? The pre-requisite for entry will be the purchase of a subscription where the contestant has to prove his/her purchase. Thanks.
