Hi,

I would like to know if your cellular service provider charges for delivery reports.

Im on MTN topup and they charge R 0.86 for delivery reports. Nowhere do they indicate a charge for delivery reports.

Ive spoken to them a while back and no one has bother to get back to me.

Who can i complain too?

Thankx

It is a special feature on MTN for there prepaid customers only - thats why Vodacom advertises free delivery reports on their prepaid adverts. You say you are on Topup which is effectively prepaid as IN interrogation occurs. Delivery report is charged at the same rate as the SMS.

The fact that they charge for delivery reports can be seen on there website under the relevant tariffs.

My Choice Topup is classified as a contract. I have yet to come across any documentation even online which states delivery report charge for mychoice topup

Me too. MTN is ripping its customers off on delivery reports.
I can't understand why they have not changed this long ago already?
And now with Vodacom's new GPRS rates, MTN is really starting to look bad.

One thing though, on Vodacom and Cell C, they do charge for delivery reports on overseas numbers. Can someone confirm?

Ive tried taking the matter up with MTN a couple of months ago. I havnt received a proper response. No one has bothered to get back to me.

How can they charge for something which they dont have listed in their tarrif?

Here is another question do they charge for MMS delivery reports?

Maybe we should take this up with ASA because MTN is not interested.

MTN is very expensive for a lot of things, they charge 98cents for 20kb of data, vodacom charges R10 for 1mb and they plan to change it to R1.75 per 1mb next month.

I think he refers to the data bundles on offer from Feb. 1 like R200 for 250 MByte.
