I got myself a Cell C modem etc last week. I have a vodamail account linked to my MS Outlook, I can recieve mail but can't send. Phoned vodacom and they told me to call Cell C for the correct smtp. Cell C gave me 2 to try but had no luck.

Can anybody help.

Which ones did you try and what happened when you tried to send, error message?

Used the std mail.cmobile.co.za, and the 1 with all the number( check the amature ). By the way I'm using Office 2003, tried the Test Account Settings: Send test e-mail msg failed.

Under Errors: Sent test e-mail msg: The specified server was found, but there was no response from the server. Please verifiy that the port and SSLinfo is correct. To access these settings close this dialog, then click More Settings and click on Advanced tab.

Have you tried

mail.cmobile.co.za

Port 25

No Username
No Password

username should be something like [email protected]
password : whatever you were supplied with
pop3 works,
smtp.cmobile.co.za/mail.cmobile.co.za should work - if it doesn't work try register for a cellc free email if it possible, and use those details and when u send as outgoing change your email address.

It isn't ticked and have tried all those settings. They don't work!!!

Am getting pretty agro that it isn't working and nobody seems to to know how to help. :wtf:

I have printed bussines cards with my vodamail address on. I still don't see why I should change, if you get my drift??
