Hi all.

I'm trying to use Friefox to send my email and recently it's giving me SMTP errors. (Not connecting to STMP server). I've checked my settings and all are correct (the same that worked for 5 months) My webmail of the same account sends email fine. I've asked WA about it and they seem to think it may be an anti virus issue and from the error codes I looked up on the net, that seems to be the case.

The question is, how the hell do I fix it? Turning off antivirus and firewalls doesn't help. I'm using Kaspersky AV and using WA overseas hosting option..

Firefox to send e-mail? Please explain? Do you mean Thunderbird?

Open a command prompt in Windows (Start -> Run -> cmd)
type:
telnet mail.isp.net 25
mail.isp.net = your mail server.

see if it connects.

You should get some sort of response.
If you do it's the mail program. I personally don't like thunderbird. It just rags me off. I don't like the way it works.

doh!

Yes, I mean Thunderbird.. silly me :)

It connects ok. I thought it may be thunderbird too, so I tired outlook and still no joy..
