Snipers take out hijackers

This made my day - they were "neutralised!" :D

"Two hijackers were shot dead by police snipers following a 20-hour hostage drama outside Petrusburg in the Free State on Tuesday morning, paramedics said."

"Both of the hijackers were shot by police task force officers and are deceased. The sniper unit of the task force just neutralised them,"

This is some deja vu type stuff. What happened to the "sniper" thread that was up earlier?
 
This can't be right, I thought the SA police were unwilling to protect the oppressed white minority:confused:
 
At one stage, the wife of Gerhard Venter received an SMS from his phone, typed by one of the hijackers, which said: "We will have 2 [sic] kill him".

Unbelievable, the police seem be asserting their "shoot to kill" attitude.
 
I got a documentary on the Special Task Force. Its a little old but as far as I know they are the only police unit in the world with training to parachute from the sky to deal with situations.

When the documentary was made they had a flawless hostage rescue record. These guys will give SWAT and the like a serious run for their money.

If I understand correctly they were disbanded in 2000.
