SNO insider indicates roll-out delay

But of course. Did we realistically expect otherwise?

And Telkom does a little happy dance. More time to lock in customers!

No one should read there is no other competition on the way in the near and medium term...SNO is planning to become chums with Telkom and government...

Sno

I for one am not hopeful that the SNO (if they start operating anytime before I need to start looking for an old age home), will make any difference.

On the mobile side, we started with the Siemens & Phillips luggable car phones, and we got screwed on the calls and even more on the handsets - the excuse being that the subscriber base was small - thus the high charges.

Vodacom came onto the scene, and suddenly the reason we got ripped off on calls was because of their infrastructure costs, then MTN was going to save the day and instead rolled out the vaseline, so that they could continue doing what Vodacom was doing to us.
The Cell C came in and just lubed us up some more. Now Virgin is the latest who's going to "save us".

If the mobile business is anything to go by, then prepare yourself for more "love" - wether you want it or not.

I'm not pinning my hopes on Mr. Mbeki either - If he was serious about doing anything - he would have fired Ivy "Useless" Casaburi a long time ago.......
