Hi Guys
So I've gone snowboarding twice (once for a week in Italy and then two days at Afriski). I'm decent at it and I really enjoy it. So I'm going to Switzerland next year for another week long trip. The gear rental for a week works out to almost R2k which I feel I can rather spend on buying my own gear. Which will work out a lot cheaper in the long run (definitely won't be my last snowboarding trip). So I have 2 questions:
1. Is there a local dealer that sells snowboards, bindings and boots? I've found a couple of 2nd hand deals on Gumtree but the one or two that seemed decent were sold before I got to it.
2. If I import from America, will there be any import tax? From what I could gather it will just be VAT, but just want to make sure. Looking at something like this: http://www.djsboardshop.com/p-73697...d-sapient-stash-bindings-avalanche-boots.aspx
Obviously not the best board in the world but should be fine for my occasional trips. Also helps that it is relatively affordable. Obviously I need to save money for the actual trip so can't go top of the range.
Thanks.
