A friend wants to tag along to watch it, if and when it comes out in SA. I could not find a release date for S.A - maybe I looked in all the wrong places.

Did not get rave reviews.

Stone is so intent on making Snowden an icon that he scrubs him of his nuances, his individuality.

Despite the best efforts of its formidable director and cast, Snowden can’t remotely live up to the excitement of real life.

Snowden (2016) 7.5/10

Really enjoy this. The story is really well told. Running time 2h14min but still remains captivating & downright interesting.

Oliver Stone actually travelled to Moscow a few times to meet the real Edward Snowden & gain insight into his story.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was properly convincing & all-round excellent; this bloke is on a role.

Even Shailene Woodley looked good.

I will be very very surprised if this does not notch a few Oscar nominations come Oscar fever time & hopefully win a few.

The current IMDB score is 7.4 & that is a notch too low imo.
