It's fast, and not fast for a notebook.... it's flippen fast! I already checked and one port of the SATA 2 is being used and one SATA 3 is being used. I'm assuming the SATA 3 is the HDD. I'm just waiting to hear from Acer on how the swapout will work.
The model I bought was a Acer Aspire 5750G.
# 15.6-inch LED backlit display
# Powered by Intel latest Core i7 2630QM processor
# Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi,& Ethernet LAN connectivity options
# Turbo Boost 2.0 technology
# Pre-installed Windows 7 OS
# 4 DDR3 RAM
# NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics card
# NVIDIA Optimus technology
# Up to 640GB HDD
# DVD RW
# USB 3 Port
and here is the best part! I paid R9500 for it. Incredible is selling it for R11999 but you can trade in an old laptop or desktop and get R2500 off!
I think it's likely the best deal in their whole store.
For the price I don't think you can beat it.
Now I did a quick renderering test to see how it compares to my desktop machine which has a Core 2 Quad Q8300 cpu.
Rendering Time
Q8300 - 1min55
Notebook - 1min13
I was just browsing the store and then saw it. I was not even aware sandybridge notebooks were in the country!
