So I got a PS3 80GB two days ago, what are the first things I should do to it?

Software updates, get online, what games to buy etc?

All I've done so far is watch movies on it :rolleyes:

Go online and explore, Buy games and play.

Update your PS3, then go onto PSN and have a look at some of the games for sale. There are some really nice titles available. Just watch out, they also sell PS1 titles (which you can play on PS3 but looks like crap) and some games are only compatible with PSP, so just grab a demo first if you can or look at some reviews online.

There are many really good titles in the second hand market or even platinum like Uncharted - think you can pick this up for bout R300 or less as platinum and prolly R150 second hand?

Head over to www.ps3za.co.za for the local PS3 community and check out their market place for some pre-played game for sale. You can also find pre-played games at BTGames and AWX and other shops.
 
Yeah first thing to do would be to get on the Playstation Network (PSN). Then look at the downloadable PSN games (not only look out for PS1 games but also PSP games!). Most of the games on there are really good. There is a way to share the games between friends if you know others that have ps3's. You can share the game between 5 people (usually do it with 4 so you can save a redownload for yourself if anything happens. This is all explained on www.ps3za.co.za.

There is a way to download using your local cap so the big downloads aren't too hectic.
 
LOL, I must say that I have only played for about 3 hours since I got the PS3 and it's insane!

I have installed the software on my mac to share the drive and now I can watch all my movies on my PS3 from my mac :D

Need to join the PSN when I get home tonight and see what tis all about :P
