iBurst called me stating that I need to pay for VAS as my contract is up. Problem is I'm on a R500 budget so I asked if they would allow me to keep my VAS and downgrade my package so that I don't exceed R500. The answer was a straight NO! They removed my VAS so I will be removing myself as an iBurst customer.

It's been fun see you in the MWEB forums!!!

Good luck with that! You've got zero chance getting your "service" cancelled with Hellburst, might as well close your bank account now, before they start stealing your money.

You can downgrade your account to Wireless 2 for R198 and add the 128 VAS for R249 with a total monthly cost of R447pm. You will lose the mid month topup though.

The retentions department are incompetent like most of the accounts department.

I would cancel the account as the contract is up and then apply for a new account on month to month. This will give you the mid month topup again.

PM Rooi. I'm sure he will be able to assist.

Hi RVQ,

I will ask and suggest a rule that anyone who has a VAS will not lose his mid month top up when migrating downwards. Will that help?

Yes that is all I asked the retentions manager for...

Service levels in South Africa is decreasing by the day. If you see my thread on Vodacom you will know what I mean. I used to have an iBurst contract long ago but that did not work out with their rude personnel and when I mention I am an attorney they just say, please hold and then I had to wait 30 minutes on a phone (bill running high!), I left them and never looked back.

My brother-in-law is getting a divorce and his attorney and his current wife's attorney is screwing them over. The service level of law in this country is shocking. In the old days the attorneys were interested in helping, not clocking up the hours. Just saying...

Looks like there is no real win for me:

1. Stay with current package and have 10 gigs any time data but no VAS
2. Downgrade package and loose mid-month top-up and have only 2 gigs any time data and VAS

3. cancel current contract and sign up for a new 2gig with VAS and stil be eligible for mid month top up (on month to month) but just pay new conection fee im guessing in long run it works out cheaper?
