For about R56.

I wonder what the **** my iMac was doing in the night - I got the first alert around 02:00 but decided meh best sleep. This morning at 05:08 the alert sez you been got boy, you're OOB and I tumble out the bed and unplug it.

Oh well could have been much worse.

Telkom mobile only switched on their towers here in January. My first Voda contract expired in June, this one expires in October and it's goodbye mobile contracts after that. Left voice contract (MTN), two years ago and spending 1/4 of what I used to.

So you still haven't checked what went down?

No I unplugged went back to bed and checked balance when I got to work. It's probably something bad on the mail app sync failures. Auto updates are not allowed on any of my devices.

I got screwed once like that when I got my first droid.

I don't go to sleep with WiFi on, my droid is set to auto update on WiFi but I turn it on and wait until it's finished and then turn off mainly to save on battery.

TBF, Vodacom are quite helpful - my previous encounter with the shark was when they withdrew night owl for bolt on bundles and I got fully credited thanks to VD here.

I know, just means the Mac chewed through over a gig doing something I didn't tell it to. The only nightly activities I allow it is scheduled downloads when I have night owl data available.

Havent had a contract for age, and saving mega.

It was the cheapest rate at the time and some of us can't convince Telkom to install lines even with the promise of pay or have no Wifi provider coverage. So we have to light night fires and implore R'hollor's protection because the night is dark and full of OOB terrors :D

One of the reasons I'm cancelling my 3 + 3, it's becoming way too dangerous especially eve since I started using Steam. A download that I removed from queue, decided to add itself back without reason, when low on bandwidth that un-timely download could of cost me big time if I was on the Vodacom sim at that time.

There's no viable means of stopping it either. If the 3 + 3 was on Top up then maybe, but you lose the nightowl for some reason on topup. Don't know why the two contracts don't provide the same amount of data to be honest.
