What motherboard and chipset drivers do I download for Win 10? Its a rather old mobo so Win 8.1 is the latest driver.

well it would have to be drivers for your specific mobo. get the model no. and then search for it.

You should be fine - I just did the update for my laptop which I bought back in 2011 - and everything is running like a dream. I had a minor glitch with my sound drivers and simply restored the original drivers (which are for Windows 7).

So Win 8.1 drivers should be fine to keep all your things working if that is what's available.

Question foe you guys,
Samsung never released drivers for everything my laptop needs on win 7, they released for 8 though,

What should i load? 7 drivers or 8 drivers?

Well the sound card driver I tired to install failed (W8.1 driver for Win 10) so you going to have to go to each of the manufactures website to find the right driver.

Realtek/Atheros for LAN/Wifi
Intel/Nvida/AMD for video
Intel for Chipset
Realtek for Audio

One more thing, should i enable secure boot with 10? Or stay on legacy mode, as my laptop sometimes bounces on legacy BIOS mode,

Had big issues at the time, and every now and then it does the same,

Legacy.

I haven't had any issues with using Windows 8.1 drivers where Windows 10 drivers weren't available.

But in order to qualify, wont i have to boot up as 8? Then initilaze the upgrade then?

Reason i ask is all my drivers worked on 8 when i downgraded to 7 some things like BT don't work, but work perfectly in 8,

So will i have to go back to secure boot and all that ****? Really dislike secure boot if its not nessasary.

Check the hardware ID for the devices you are missing drivers for, copy paste to google search to get the part\model of the device, Go to manufacturers website and download from there.

Belive me, tried all the possible drivers, wifi works (eventually) but bt dosent discover and crashes/ hangs my system on 7 at least,

Only thing i notice is bt works perfectly on 8

So my next question is does it work on 10 if i upgrade from 8?

Laptop is a Samsung np300 the celeron one....

Format and clean install.
