SOC setting for Sunsynk 5.12kWh battery

I have a 5kw Sunsynk inverter and a single Sunsynk 5.12kWh battery, no PV yet. For some reason the installer has set max allowable charge on the battery to 80%.

It's coping just fine with the current round of loadshedding, dropping to ~60% and then taking 25-30m to recharge back up to 80%.

Any idea why the installer initially set the max charge to 80% and not 100%?
 
Could you post specs of the battery, or the manual?

You could also search around on https://powerforum.co.za/. I got some great help to configure the parameters for my shiitty Narada lithum pack on there.

It should always be charged to 100%, otherwise it won't do balancing.
 
I assume the installed set up Time of use which would be pointless without PV
Go to Settings, System, Work Mode 1
Untick use timer and click ok

LFP batteries should not be kept at 100% for extended periods of time. I can only assume that since you are not cycling them daily the installer thought 80% SOC to be better for the longevity of the battery.

It's exactly this, called the installer yesterday and asked for an explanation.
