Hi all

I was wondering if anyone knows the seating layout for Soccer City (old FNB) in terms of rows? does A start at the bottom or does it start at the top?

This doesn't give rows but rather blocks :

EIBOVenueMap.cfm

From an online booking site it looks like it starts at A goes through to Z and then moves onto double letters AA etc.

Thank you all :) trying to get soccer city tickets

I just checked out a ticket from one of the games... it seems that blocks are the critical thing. The ticket states block 508 and row V, so even in the heavens the rows can be single letter. You probably find there is A to whatever on each level.

I was there last Wednesday night. Trust me. The rows are numbered from A at the bottom of each section. I was in row C... three from the bottom of the section.

For someone who was there you think you would have elaborated a little better than just a "at the bottom" earlier.... I was not there and I provided more detailed info confirming what you are now saying than you did.

Jeeez, Lance.... do you have to turn every single thread into an argument? You can see why people get so irritated with you. Everything is a challenge to you and every thread a fight that you have to win. Seriously... you have such a chip on your shoulder.

The OP asked...

does A start at the bottom or does it start at the top?

and I answered...

at the bottom.

That is a complete affirmation of his question. What else does he need to know or ask? He was clearly satisfied with it. I could have also gone and searched for a map or layout... but since I googled for one before I went to the game last Wednesday I knew there wasn't one that shows the actual rows. So I didn't bother. I just answered his question directly from personal experience.

Your reply says nothing about where the rows start.

...

What he said ^^
Stop trying to argue with everyone and always trying to prove yourself Lance ;)

Well the forum has been rather slow with the smokers rolling over and dying so let's turn this into an argument shall we!!

When someone comes back into a thread after initially reluctantly providing an answer and says trust me, full stop, after others have provided more elaborate answers, and in fact uncovered the fact that "from the bottom" does not cut it as an answer as it is not the case (in truth it appears that each section starts from A so a seat in row A is no guarantee that you are in the front row!!), then it comes across as a clear challenge on what others have said. You are pretty much saying don't trust what the others are saying!

The fact is... neither your post nor the one after yours says anything about where the rows start. Do they start numbering with A from the top or do they start numbering with A from the bottom? Can you show me where yours answers that question? No... I didn't think so. Despite all the fancy pictures and useless diagrams... they don't answer the OP's question. My original post clearly answers his question. They start numbering with A from the bottom of the section. I know that cos I was there... in row C... three rows from the bottom of the section.

Sorry, you lose. now you can go cry in your pillow.

Are you jealous that I replied to a thread before you?

EDIT: Let me clarify this for you. The OP knows that the rows start from A. What he wanted to know was... is A at the bottom of the section or the top of the section. That's what you failed to answer for him.

Oh really, it's a fact is it? A bit like you claiming he should trust you and no one else! A little bit of a high opinion of yourself there? Well let me just shoot you down then with some proof. It was there for you to see but clearly you reluctantly read other posts in here too. Is it your eagerness to be first? Maybe just post first in future. Then you can say you won!

So you want to see where I answered... OK!

In hindsight a far more accurate answer than yours as I mentioned the importance of blocks!

Despite all the fancy pictures and useless diagrams... they don't answer the OP's question.

And your childish eagerness to be first could well have lead him to buy a ticket in row A just to find that he is on the third level nowhere near the pitch!

My original post clearly answers his question. They start numbering with A from the bottom of the section. I know that cos I was there... in row C... three rows from the bottom of the section.

Notice how you now keep adding "of each section"

And finally, he later claimed he was wanting to buy tickets. My indicating the importance of blocks and providing a map will be FAR more useful in assuring he gets the seats he wants!

But this is all besides the point. The point is you don't hold a monopoly on answering questions. Feel free to provide an answer but don't try to belittle the answers of others.

Also maybe next time stop trying to be the first to post!

yes, we know it starts at A... but is that at the top of the section... or the bottom of the section?

You probably find there is A to whatever on each level.

Yes, we know there is an A... duh... obviously. That's why the OP asked if "A" starts

at the top

or

at the bottom.

You haven't yet told him where it starts.

Did you fail Geometry at school? :D

Do you know what is up and down?

Do you know what "top" and "bottom" means?

Or are you just dense?

I didn't know you can choose which row you want to sit in. As far as I know, you can only choose which block (the ones available) that you want to sit in.

That is what I was pointing out throughout this thread (ie the block is more important than the row)... but in this instance I was indicating that a ticket stating row A does not necessarily mean you are right next to the pitch.

It's still irrelevant in terms of the OP's original question. You can blither on about sections and blocks all you want.

All that the OP wanted to know was where does A start? At the top or the bottom. And I already answered that for him in post #2!

:D

Yes, well done, you posted first. Congratulations. Your prize is in the mail. Now please pipe down so others can provide him with more accurate and relevant information. Luckily for the rest of us the mods don't lock a thread after the first inaccurate answer.

um, looks like he took the answer I gave him and went with it! He just ignored your pointless posts. :D Sorry... maybe next time. Try googling that irrelevant information a bit faster maybe?
