KwaZulu Natal – There has been strong social media backlash about a post made by the Grand Canyon Spur Steak Ranch in Pinetown, regarding one of their employees.

The post, which has since been taken down, had one of their employees, identified as Ma Dudu, holding a plated waffle.

“Did you know that Ma Dudu has been our Waffle maker for the past 25 years! In her career she has made a whopping 37,485 waffles and still going strong. We salute you Ma Dudu and thank you for your dedication and years of service,” read the caption.

The message was however met with severe criticism on Twitter.

It did not take long for the matter to start trending, with many people questioning how a woman had remained in the same position, with no advancement, for 25 years.

Spur CEO Pierre van Tonder referred all enquiries to the franchise owner, Morne Brown.

Brown could not be reached for comment on Saturday.

All the special twitter snowflakes getting their panties in a knot.

No advancement for years is par for the course. Did they really think all those cashiers at PnP become managers & supervisors?

I ask my staff the same question quite often, do you just want to stay in this job forever?
And most of them seem quite content to do exactly that.
There are a few of them that advance though.
We had a Tea Lady that became our Debtors Clerk.

I bet every SJW complaining about this have promoted their domestic worker to a domestic manager, eventually promoting her to to a domestic CEO with shares in the corporation.

I wonder what these people think a waffle maker is qualified to do.

you see, people like this do not try advance further they instead hog stepping stones younger people are supposed to do.

I cant imagine I just stayed at my first job, no ambition to advance or better myself.

the fear of not finding another job is their problem I guess.

Intorducing the waffelmeister3000 or something :)

Managing employees is not the same as making a waffle. If they know it will be a ****up to promote her, why risk it. Even I can make a waffle.

I am sure many promoted them to bed.

With her waffling skills, I'm surprised she didn't transfer to Spur's communications department.
