Social networking beyond Facebook

I think there's been a lot of social networks, some of them claiming to be facebook killers. I think everyone must just accept that the social networking industry has been taken and they need to come up with something innovative. MySpace and SecondLife found out the hard way.

Unfortunately you are wrong on that statement, MySpace(not so sure about secondlife) and tagged are the ones that started all of this social networking facebook is the baby of the lot :/

I think a lot of people are always confused about who came first, MySpace was luanched in 2006, Facebook in 2004. But i am not saying Facebook was the first social network, just because MySpace had its share of fame, dont assume its older than facebook.
 
the only social networking i do is tuesday's and thursday's at the pub.
 
Hmm.. wonder how Orkut got left off the list... Being owned by Google should count for something....
 
If youtube was considered a social network it would be right on top of the list with over 1 billion users, that's double the number of facebook users.

You're actually wrong, MySpace was launched in 2003.

Have u seen how riled up ppl get over comments and videos posted months or even years ago?!
 
What happened to real social networking? friends/family + braai + drinks = Ayoba
