Is there any software out there taht will tell me what type CPU socket is on the mobo?

Well i now know it's a celeron 2.4, did they only come in one socket flavour ?

Next question..... are socket 478 mobo's still made?
Nothin on Sahara's price list ......

You "may" be able to get a decent 478 Motherboard, if you wanted to import.

I had exact same problem...I needed a PCIX Motherboard....but then had a 478 Chip...

So i ended up having to get now...a new chip..mobo..+ gfix card :(

I know your pain :(
 
My problem was that i needed PCIX and i could not find any 478 PCIX Boards =(
 
I have a socket 478 mb available for you, SATA and 2 IDE, so that should help.
 
Same here,

When i get new rig up by 25th or so....welcome to have my old Mobo...has SATA/ATA/IDE Its a Photon though.
