socketing advice

hey all, i am 50% of the way to getting gladiator's dreadgear - which seems like a great entry lvl pvp set!
but i see that this gear comes with like 7 sockets in 3 items, anyone socketed this set before?

anyone got any advice as far as gems go?

new to socketing =)

Assuming you want all the socket bonuses:

Socket the meta with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25896

Socket the yellows with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33782 or http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24053 - Talasite is usually dirt-cheap, so it makes a good stop-gap.

Red, I guess +9 spell damage will do.

And blue, either http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24056 or http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24033

If you're not so concerned about socket bonuses, pump them all full of stam and resil.

It's just a guideline, essentially you need to do what works for you. In pvp, stam/resil always takes preference.

resilience in pvp is as valuable as +spell hit in pve... very

- and remember you can resocket items but you lose the gem that is being replaced. (used to think it was like diablo II for a while where if you fu*k up your sockets with the wrong runes or gems you're screwed)

Now go get yourself the Medallion of the Alliance before any other upgradez...

If you already have that you can start replacing those rings with vindicator & veteran's bands of dominance.

Make a list, compare stats, and get the best upgrade first and so on until you have em all.

Yeah, I dodge that place quite a bit too. Just do the bare minimum. Wait for a EotS daily and run with a premade or something. Anything to make it bearable.
