Since this is a PS4 related competition, I thought it would be fitting to post an interesting problem that I came across 
Now we all know that the PS4 is now HDMI only. So I came across a problem where the PS4 is connected directly to an audio receiver of a home theatre system. The master volume on the PS4 was so soft, that it effectively meant dramatically increasing the volume on your sound system, much more than for the other devices connected to it. There is no option of controlling the master volume on the PS4, and endless Googling proved fruitless since there is only an option to adjust headset volume.
So I decided to connect the PS4 directly to an HDMI port on the TV, and it worked! The volume was finally normalised to that of the other devices on my system. Fortunately the HDMI port linking my TV to receiver supports ARC (audio return channel), so I don't lose out on surround sound.
Now if you do get yourself this awesome piece of equipment, and find yourself let down by the sound, then just follow these steps:

- Connect PS4 to an available HDMI port on your TV.
- Connect TV to your receiver via an HDMI port on the TV that supports ARC. This way you won't lose the Dolby Digital and DTS encoding.
- Your receiver must support at least HDMI 1.3, which does audio over HDMI.
- Instead of selecting your source on the receiver, you will now select it on the TV. A small price to pay for infuriatingly low volume levels, and having to constantly adjust it depending on the source.
- Profit.
