software installation

hi i need a bit of advice i have a computer with xp home edition now i want to install xp pro.... can i just install and will it override the xp home or is there another way i can install xp pro... please advise to the procidures

If you boot with the cd, then select install XP, it will try to locate other installations of windows. It should pick up the Home installation, and allow you to repair it. It should install Pro, leaving all your other programs as they are.

I don't remember actually doing this though maybe someone can confirm that it does work?

if you have the xppro cd thaen just put it in and install.it will have an option to upgrade or it will ask to repair the windows system.just read waht it says and you will be fien.just dont select bland new install,and if it asks you format,do not do that option.
