Hi all,

Ok, so I am coming to grips with using my MBP in a normal working environment. I need to edit a screen grab (like one would do in MS Paint for instance). What program/software can I use to do this?

What sort of stuff? Cropping etc you can use preview. Otherwise there is the venerable photoshop as well as free apps like gimpshop.

Preview is cool for cropping, colour adjustments etc, but for instance, crossing out a line, putting a red rectangle over an area, etc. Will check out gimpshop, thanks bwana

Wait - should have thought of this earlier - your laptop should have Graphic Converter on it.

Thanks bwana ... and while we're at it ... quite a while ago you post a tip as to how to change the default file extension for Grab ... mind posting it again please?

Go to terminal and enter . . .

eg
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type pdf
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg

you might have to sudo and I'm pretty sure you'll need to log out and back in.
