Software To Recover Files Corrupted By A Virus?

Hi all!

Recently I picked up a deadly virus that infected all of the files on my flash drive. I sent a flash drive to a friend, who cleaned it using an anti-virus, and he gave me a program that will allow to view the infected files. Problem is, when I take that flash disk to a computer that does not have the program installed, I can't view my files. Is there any way that I can recover the files so that I can access them normally from any computer?

Hey, not sure how legal it is but Hirens Boot CD has various data recovery programs that will help you to try and recover what ever data you can from the flash. Otherwise Test Disk which I have never used but can be downloaded from http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk might help.
