Anyone know how to get hold of Solar Assistant other than the support email?

I bought and installed SA over December and, initially, got excellent response from Pierre around a number of bugs and fixes and then suddenly radio silence, with numerous mails unanswered.

Any specific issue you're struggling with ? I have two SA installations on the Beta track, and both have been rock solid with my Sunsynk and Axpert inverters.

I've got a specific model of a battery brand that gives a slightly different ID than the generic one. SA supports this specific battery brand (Leoch) and I've confirmed (with tracing) that the protocols are exactly the same.

I asked SA to just add the second, slightly different ID string to their base code so that SA will work with these models as well.

So are you using a comms cable from SA to the the battery BMS? Any specific purpose for that ?

Does your inverter not have comms with the battery ?

I've given up on trying to fiddle, and fret too much with my batteries. As long as the SOC and the rest of the salient stuff is reported to the inverter, and I can get hold of that information through SA (via the inverter), and mqtt, I'm not too fussed.

As long as the inverter to battery BMS comms is ok, SA does everything I need.

Your post does point out something important however, which is that OpenSource code has better longevity, and support.

But developers also need to eat, so I understand Pierre's "closed" stance at this point. If I was in his shoes, I'd probably do the same. And I've supported him with at least two licenses thus far.

Pity about the bus thing. (inference that only some people will get).

The physical setup is working with all the relevant comms between units. But SA has a nice GUI to monitor the batteries (especially when there are multiple batteries like in my case), so I'm keen to use the SA frontend for that.

And it's all already working, just the ID string that must be updated.

Over December, I found two problems with SA (not reading all the parameters from a Deye inverter and an issue with the IP address assignment) and Pierre fixed those quickly and gave mail feedback. It's just this ID issue where he responded a few times initially but then gone quiet.

Hmm, after reflecting on the battery dashboard example over here: https://solar-assistant.io/help/dashboard/battery I might just get to crimping some comms cables for my Pylontechs.
 
After finally getting of my ass, crimped an RS232 console cable for my Pylontech's and yes, the additional information is useful. Useful to investigate specific battery issues, but not specifically pertinent to how the inverter sees the battery stack. It did get me to upgrade all the firmware on my US3000C's since it was clear that one battery had an issue. Will see how it pans out.

Slightly late and you might have solved this since Saturday but alas.

I don't know/am able to deal with your issue but emailing the guys has always been super useful for me. They are decent on the response time.

Yeah sorted out thanks. Got hold of SA, had to put in a new SD card with new software.

Working like a charm.
