A neighbour who should have known better purchased this Solar Charge Controller from Ellies for just under R1000 a few years back. He mistakenly thought it was an inverter
This is the 30AMP. the FSR30 model and can manage large lead-acid batteries
The idea is that you connect a 24 volt PV panel to it, a battery and a 12 volt lamp. The device charges the battery and keeps the light working

However, good news for anyone who might consider buying this from me, Included is yet another charge controller, model PR3030 and this one is supplied free. It works just the same. Neither model has been used, apart from me testing them to see that they in fact work as designed. Being an older model (2017) is has an LCD display which allows you to set source, charging voltage and a few more parameters. The smaller model (bottom one of the pictures) has an on/off switch for the lamp terminals
Price - R200,00 please. Collect in Cape Town southern suburbs or Postnet
