Solar Panel theft

I'm sure there's no harm in asking. Interlock is South African so I'm sure they've catered for the regions.

I spoke to Neil from Interlock, He is working on a system for bigger solar panels, For me he Is designing a 60watt system similar to that. I will be concreting that into the ground, and keep prize money for the guy that can steal it.

We did the same as this interlock thing. Welded metal around it, then took it 15 meters up. now going to place a camera to take pics. We found [recover 1 solar panel] use as a table. For cable theft I used bosal galvanize pipe fitted with bandit straps. works well.

if you do catch someone, let them go, the court case take a year and you must go to court 3 times.

I can't speak for estiaanf, but we try to be as environmentally responsible as possible when we build high sites that are not on the roofs of buildings.

...

... Chances are they were less than 10m in the bush from us, but you can no longer take an R4 and start shooting into the bushes to see what you flush out so they got away with the batteries.

No needs for R4's, just throw some snakes. They can't say it was you cause there are snakes in the bush :D

We have a security worker, when he catch someone, and figure out they are illegal person then he release some of his frustration on them.

Without seeing your installation assuming its mounted on a high pole or building?: Get one of the doggie deterrent electric fencing device kits, maybe even a full size Energizer. IF on pole connect wire around pole in a big square frame with energizer mounted above wireframe. Add remote controller to switch to turn device on and off. Add additional alam and contact via cell device when someone is tampering with the fence.

Use computer control robotic security system.Buy robots from some where or build your own robots for this purpose or contact to some robotic company for this purpose.

Robots protecting your solar panel? I can see his next thread already, "Solar panel robot bodyguard theft"
