Solar panel with electric geyser

Hi. My setup is a solar control panel(Sr81) with collectors on the roof that feeds into an electric geyser. Yesterday my element was replaced however ever since then the solar pump is continously on. Noticing that water takes long to heat and temp for the roof solar tubes are indicating more than 60deg on a winters night which is incorrect. Anyone have any ideas?

The electrician did test the thermostat. I'm going to change it today anyway as you are the 3rd person that suspect that. Set the geyser to heat at 4am. It was heating at about 2deg every 15 min. Would not go higher than 48deg after 2 hours even though I set it for 60deg. Pump is still running for the last 48 hours.

I have the same setup as you. There should be a probe on the geyser and one on the collectors. The pump should only run when the temperature of the collectors is +- 10 degrees more than the geyser.

If the collector one is showing 60degrees it is incorrectly connected (probably to the geyser). Get hold of whoever installed your solar system and ask them to check it.

There won't be a thermostat installed in Bionic's system - the SR81 takes over that role (like when fitting a GeyserWise).

I'm inclined to agree. Sounds like the SR81 is reading the temperature from the inside of the geyser, not the collector. When the collector temperature is at 60+, what is the in-geyser temperature reported as?
 
Sorry didn't update. The thermostat was replaced but that didn't fix the problem. The issue was the actual node that controls the temp on the Sr81. It's the cable that connects from controller to geyser pipe to display temp on control panel. That was just loose. Learnt more about this unit during this issue. Thanks for your help
