Anyone know a pro Solar Power provider/installer in GP?

I'm looking to install a CCTV system, powered by solar.

TIA.

CCTV doesn't use a lot of energy so this is just an unnecessary complication.

Rather install a bog standard CCTV and look at getting a solar geyser or something

You are assuming the motive is energy savings, whereas it could be a desire to have a system totally independent of local power.

That too is an assumption.

Merely pointing out that a technically complicated solution (solar) sounds sexy but might be overkill.

CCTV needs to be able to run during an induced blackout... that's more than likely what he wants... that or a rural solution - very much real use cases for solar.

Yes he'd need a battery. Almost like the battery he would need for solar. ;)

Hence my comment about solar adding complexity. You're going to need a battery either way. Adding solar adds complexity, doesn't add real savings and makes everything more complicated.

That said - if OP wants solar just for shts and giggles then I say go for it. Not my place to stop someone from tinkering...just pointing out the obvious.

Nah, you're the only one complicating things. He asked a simple question, you took the 'why would you ask that question' route.

Fine. Phone up all the suppliers you listed and ask them for a quote on a professionally installed 30 watt system. Let me know if any of them don't laugh/hang up.

I'm all for solar...where it makes sense.

30 watts lol. Is that much do you think a DVR and 16 cameras pull?

Decent list of <20W DVRs by Energy star over here:
https://www.energystar.gov/ia/products/prod_lists/set_top_boxes_prod_list.pdf

And I'm sure I can find a <10W camera too. (Not sure where you got that random 16 camera number???)

Who is laughing now?

Anyway as fun as the detour was...you very conveniently completely ignored my point that none of the pro solar installers you listed will install a bloody 30W system. Which is what OP asked for...

On the subject of low power solar systems, anyone installed a solar powered trickle charger in a vehicle?

Its a 500-600w system.

I just need them for the solar installation, not the cctv installation. If the Solar part isn't done properly, then of course you can understand my CCTV system will be affected.

8 channel DVR system , I wish it was just 30w :D

Not sure what the issue with 16 cameras is - that's what my home system is and that's what I based it on. Sure it may be less but in the absence of info, better to assume the worst. Point is 30W is too small and you know it... especially if you have to go hunting for the equipment just to meet that number.

That should be very doable - no need for charge controller, just get low current panels and sorted.

I hope you find someone decent. Let us know if you do.
IMO it's perfect use for Solar... no major issues with a cheap inverter if you need 240v - no high peak draw.
