Hey happy peoples

I got a question for yall
I have a small solar project going been working just fine until a few days ago
I have the following 2X 330w panels mounted on roof in parallel 2 x Agm 200ah batteries and 3.5kw inverter have have my lights connected and some of the plugs ( just the essential my fridge TV dstv my sound system wife and outside antenna)
Yes that's just my essentials..lol

So the other night we had a power failure and my TV and a few other things we running however the tv switched off for a second or 2 while the batteries took over normality I wouldn't even know that there is load shedding if the grid goes down
Batteries were fully charged and I was at about 7% capacity of the inverter

Why the power dip all of a sudden?
Never had that before
Been using it for about 3 to 4 months now

Any takers?

Cold[er] weather? I'm just guessing.

Some renewable energy guru will be here soon to give us the real reason.

I think it's just one of those things, like having a random error that disappears after a reset. If there is really an issue I would guess it has something to do with the surge current being drawn from the system and the batteries temporarily buckling under pressure.

Looks like a decent system, I'm actually keen on a similar system with my renovation upcoming, any sense on costs ?

Hi yes it is most of my power needs is filled gas geyser and gas stove also I did the whole installation myself so I saved alot on labour. The cost to comfort ratio is just about right

Could you link parts and total cost of equipment?

Currently also looking at a Gas Geyser just worried itight not meet full demand when the time comes. Got the gas stove which has been super convenient when there is no power. Have also been looking at a DIY/non-solar electrician since they aren't cheap but there is plenty online for the how.

What times do you imagine would make a gas geyser fall short of your water heating needs? It literally heats the water pretty much the same way your electric geyser does.

Quite a few bathrooms potentially running at the same time in the mornings, hence was also looking at 2 units to service different parts of the house.

It would still be very equal to the task in terms of heating water, I just don't know about the costs of running such a system.

I think it's more upfront costs rather than continuous or variable costs, also looked at a solar tube geyser with a weather dependent failsafe to the gas geyser. However Gas is preferred since I already have 2x 48kg tanks servicing the kitchen and fireplaces.
