Damn. Every now and again I look up at the night sky, identify some of the visible planets, and then it hits me - suddenly I get some depth to the view I'm looking at. Its ****ing big out there.

And thanks to the American taxpayers for funding, building and sending machines to the very edge of our solar system, and beyond. Voyager 1 is already beyond Pluto, and Voyager 2 joins it next year, both puttering along at just over ten miles a second.
