Hi all,

As title states, how do I sort out the above.
Buyer was given all paperwork etc. but didn't do the legwork and I am currently getting tickets.

Have a "contract" with his signature, date and the ID number.
Copy of the transfer forms with his signature.

Anything I am missing to get this stuff sorted?

Did you hand in the yellow form at the traffic department?

I didn't hand anything in as yet as buyer lives 2 km from the traffic department he said he would handle it all.
Apparently he hasn't

The ONE thing that every seller should do, is to hand in the Yellow form, even if it's a pain to do it. The buyer then has 21 days to get it into his name, and it saves you a whole lot of hassle down the road.

NEVER trust a buyer to do any legwork for you, they normally couldn't be bothered.

Affix the contract to the form, complete the sections you can and go hand it in.

The form is just for recordkeeping purposes, they can change the ownership without it as the contract confirms the car is no longer your possession.

I sold a golf to a guy who, for a year, drove it without worrying about licenses. When I got a speeding ticket I went to the municipality with the contract. The reissued the fine (at which time there was more than one already) to him and removed my details from the system.

Hindsight is a pain. Thanks for the explanation. Will get my ducks in a row and go sort all this out ASAP
