Sold SD PVR to get HD PVR

You should have kept it, and still got the HDPVR at least then you would have a working PVR :p

you should have kept the SD conected the 2 and have the ability to watch 3 channels and record 3 all at once.
alos HD pvr does not have the video on demand feature that SD pvr has (i cant rember what its called again?)

like @isie said. U could have run the two PVRs in eXtraview mode, would not have cost u cent more in subscription fees. Just a little on setting up the whole lot...

actually...

It would have cost you R55 over the R499 a month you currently pay:)

Only one slave device for Xtraview for now, but cough...cough...could go up to 4 devices in the future...;)

Scratch that, PVR access included in PVr subscription, my bad - so costs R554 you a month, which you are currently paying anyway...

MY BAD :)

well the HD pvr is not dual view, although you can record 2 different channels while watching a third

Sold the SD for R2960 and paid R2699 for the HD PVR. I work for the company that does DSTV so I get a good rate on alles.

I'll put in a regular DSTV decoder in the bedroom for extraview once I've got this all running.

Another thing, how does the extravoew work and connect up if you have an HD PVR and a regular decoder?

you work for a company that does DSTV thats funny brings new meaning to Action X

You need to run another cable from the LNB to the 1110 decoder and connect it to the lnb in. then, next take a cable fromthe hd pvr's rf out to 1110's rf in. ithen go to the setup of each unit and setup inputs for xtraview. after that phone dstv to have them activate the whole setup and hey, presto!!!! connected.....

So in other words I need 2 cables to the 1110? Can I not use a 2x6 way multiswitch and have dual LNB in the 4 into PVR and one into RF in and RF out going to a single cable to the 1110? Almost like a passthrough.

Jugs,

You better off leaving the 1110 in the lounge, close to where your HD PVR is. You still need the 2x6 multi-switch, with the 5th cable going to the 1110. In addition to that, you need the "heartbeat" cable that connects the RF (out or in) to the RF out of the 1110. You also need a TPiece to bring these connections together to go to your bedroom. There's a nice PDF about this on the DSTV website.

I've got the LNB where only a single cable runs to the HD decoder. Its a twin so one to the HD, one to the 1110 and the heartbeat cable. Much cleaner this way

How do you record and watch at the same time? You need all 4 to record 2 and watch a 3rd.
