Two SA National Defence Force members were arrested after a tuck shop was robbed in Viljoenskroon, Free State police said on Tuesday.
Three armed men stormed into the shop, owned by an Ethiopian, on Monday and demanded money, Captain Stephen Thakeng said.
When the shop owner resisted he was struck on the back of the neck with a pistol. The robbers fled with money, toiletries, and cigarettes.
Members of the visible policing unit spotted their getaway car and stopped it. One of the three men ran away. The stolen goods were found in the car. The two SANDF members were expected to appear in the Viljoenskroon Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
