Has anybody used SolMatrix as an ISP? They have DSL Go accounts (SAIX : 1Gb - R69, 3Gb -R189 5Gb-R299) which are comparable or cheaper in price than WebAfrica and Axxess.
They also state "Our DSLGo packages provide Broadband ADSL Data on the SAIX network with Data Roll-Over! An existing ADSL-enabled line is required.
Monthly data usage allocations of between 1 GB and 100 GB with Data Roll-Over are available.
Allocated data never expires so any unused data at the end of a month is automatically transferred and is still available the following month! "
The data carryover + pricing looks tempting
Anybody have an feedback on them wrt service etc

Axxess 1gig on prepaid is also R69 or in voucher form R70 from Engen garages or Pick&pay stores.

The data also rolls over :> , and can be used over 12months i think

Their old prices used to be better before they introduced rollover. Now it's nothing great. :(

5GB = R250, 10GB = R499, those were good. But you still get good prices on the combined packages especially with 5 or 10GB accounts. I'd only look at those now.

Thanks for the info. If the DSL Go with rollover are the same as the prepaid, then from 3Gb packages up, the price is R60 per Gb (which is cheaper than the R70 being charged at Axxess etc)
What I wanted to do was to buy a 3Gb or 5Gb package once-off ( 1 month), and then use it as backup account when capped on Do3. Buying 1Gb prepaid at a time might add up to higher costs. Does anybody know the fine print regarding the data rollover etc

All remaining data is carried over each month and is yours to use until it is used up, whenever that may be. If you have a 5GB package with 2GB left at the end of the month you will start the new month with 7GB. If you then have 3GB left at the end of that month you will start the next month with 8GB. Data never expires - you paid for it so it is yours to use whenever.

Remaining data is still available to use even after canceling the monthly renewal and you can cancel at any time before the 25th for the following month. If you have e.g. 4GB left at the end of the month that you cancel you will still be able to use the full 4GB no matter how long it takes.

We will soon be adding an option to select either monthly renewal or just once-off purchase for these packages.

Local-only, Unshaped, and Combined (data plus line) packages are also in the pipeline.

@Aopen
That was a pretty quick response or perhaps you were waiting till after the Rugby World? Seems like the consumers forced your hand!

I must say that I am pretty impressed with Sol Matrix service. Signed for a DSL Go 5Gb account at approx 16h00 on Saturday afternoon. I was up and running in about 3 mins. Adding extra Gb at R59 is definitely cheaper than the other ISPs and the rollover is perfect if data is not used up in the month. The only other account I would consider would be WA 10Gb at R490 but no rollover is included.

I only saw the DSL Go Now account response from Aopen after 6pm. Would be it be possible to change from DSL Go to DSL Now or do I have to cancel the DSL Go account?

The range of SAIX based accounts affered by SolMatrix (Local, Rollover etc) gets a thumbs up in my books.

Just send an e-mail to Support with your account details and we will be happy to convert your service.
