So I haven't seen a thread for this around yet, but here is a trailer to get us started

Saw the trailer yesterday. Looks like a good homage to the Solo :)

It doesn't give me the Star Wars feel.

I think that's the point with these spin-offs. Rogue One also didn't feel Star Wars-y. I believe there's plans for a Boba Fett film and that will definitely be tonally different from the rest.

I'd like a Edgar Wright-style film set in the Star Wars universe.

For me, Rogue One definitely felt like Star Wars, in tone and there were visual and aural cues throughout the trailer(s).

I know these are supposed to be stand alone and unique, but at least make it feel like they are in the same universe.

So what would a authentic modern version of a Star Wars movie "feel" like, considering the originals had hammy acting and ancient special effects (by today's standards), among other things?

Sure you can try an emulate some the story and characters and humour but you'll never get the feel of the original trilogy.

You simply cannot have a new Star Wars movie that feels like a Star Wars movie.

I'd rather watch the Jar Jar Binks' movie than this.

It would give me the goosebumps the TFA, Rogue One and TLJ trailers gave me.

It looks like a space western, and maybe they are going for something that different, but subjectively it doesn't work for me.

Trailer looks good. The actor they picked was the only redeeming character in Hail Caesar which is the only movie I have seen him in.

Overall I have enjoyed the recent Disney star wars movies without thinking of them as brilliant or anything. Definitely looks worth a watch.

Solo has always been a space cowboy in my eyes. Thinking about it now, it's probably one of the best descriptions I've ever heard of him. :p

Same trailer, better soundtrack.
