Scenario :: Windows 7 Home Edition fails to send email on any mail client.
Norton Internet Security Suite installed but non responsive to interaction requests and cannot be removed outside of Windows in SAFE MODE.

Solution :: Download Norton Removal Tool for your product. Enter Windows Safe Mode and remove Norton from Symantec.

Problem was solved. Email works.

Ja, also had a couple of issues with McAfee after uninstalling.

Otherwise it works well though.

But Norton/Symantec gets uninstalled first time round.
