Solution to PING/DC problems

Weird. Give more info. Line details, accts etc etc.

btw I had crap latency myself yesterday. Dunno the exact reason
 
I think it was something saix was doing, it was only during the morning. DC's and high latency.

I decided to buy 1 gig afrihost account and wow, something about their accounts latencies are just great.
 
Last week was completely unplayable for me on any account I used (afrihost / webafrica / axxess), was getting disconnected in 25 mans as soon as a boss was pulled - but had absolutely no problems in 10 mans.

So I decided to try lowerping yesterday (I didn't have any success with gamemax, lagged and disconnected more than without it) but then I just had extremely high latency (4500+, things just looked like they occasionally teleported to different places on the screen) although no dc's...

So then I decided to try again without any proxy service, and I got no dc and my latency stayed between 300 - 350. This was on my axxess account. Now I'm not complaing, I just wanna know what the difference was between last week and this week :o

Anyone else having issues with lowerping?
 
ye I'm having issues atm.

Beginning of last week I was getting 280ms with Afrihost+lowerping and since the end of last week I've been getting 350-450ms with that.

No idea wtf is going on again now. I need to get back to sub 300ms or its not playable for what I do :(
 
Yea tried all of those and none of it worked :( It seems to be very random on what nights it wants me to lag and dc.
 
just did voa25 seems like some people updated addons or something.

the fubar spammer detective thingy showed that people were running both libhealcomm3.0 and libhealcomm4.0 at the same time which really caused huge latency (4k ms). just ignore those tards and their crutch mods.
 
Guys is anybody experiecing crap latency during day time? this has been going on now for over 2 weeks.

Axxess - unshaped - 3K MS
Axxess - shaped - 28K MS
Webafrica - S - 2K+ MS
Webafrica - V - also 2K+ MS
Axxess 626 - 350-500ms (night time only and weekends)

night time all is working fine i was under the impression when you have unshaped account these type of things would not be happening?
Paying for unshaped and really just crap @ the end of the day...

Anyone know if there is any international issues going on?

guys, i organised me an Afrihost account for R87 3gb, DAMN cheap right, but thats not all, from axxess *** basic lame ISP latency at 600-700(with reg fix), afrihost dominates BIGTIME, 300ms avg and its shaped!!!! yea, wtf??
and i didnt have to speak to anyone, just ordered online, sent my ID my email, sorted in 30 mins not even!! SO suprised, last night i could not stop playing, and i was playing my rogue, wtfpwning the HC's. was wicked.super response!
Check it out, so damn cheap, u may as well jsut see for yourself..

this is something that had me puzzled too... i have an axxess account, fnb connect account and afrihost... now the axxess and fnb connect accounts are supposedly unshaped but the afrihost account always has better latency when i wanna play games online.

ridiculous to think it's a third of the price compared to the others.

Yes, it can - i've had first hand experience of exactly that.
If you do sign up for lowerping i'd suggest not trading any big'ish sum of gold (+1k) for a week or so, else the new IP + trade flags your account as "possibly hacked." You then have to prove that the account really is yours by supplying your CDKey aswell as the answer to your account's security question AS WELL AS the actual question.. :wtf:

Smoothping.com's Paris (best for most EU realms) server went down beginning of Feb, which only leaves you with Frankfurt which is now overcrowded and from my testing, useless.
To their credit they refunded my payment in full and apologized that they could give no ETA on the Paris server's recovery.

Afrihost straight up has been ranging from 280ms to 450ms for me in 25m instances and while it's really good i would still strongly recommend having a Web Africa prepaid account for backup. (On a few occasions Afrihost has been very laggy/unplayable for whichever reason.)
 
I've never had any issues with Lowerping, and ive transferred over 30,000g this week to different characters. Smoothping i would not touch with a 40ft barge pole
 
When I was on Edge I used traffic compressor, worked awesome until 10 man raids. This was due to Edge being slow though. Actually, it worked fine in 10 man raids, it was 25 that broke. I'm now on ADSL/Wireless which is costing me a fortune, I'm tempted to pay for traffic compressor again. Just R69 or so for 3 months and your not only does your latency improve, your bandwidth gets reduced considerably too! Out of 1gig I saved about 400mb traffic.
