Hi!

If anyone's like me they couldn't wait to get from Vista over to Windows 7 fast enough :D
Thinking that all is going to be okay now Windows 7 welcomes me (after a few installations ofcourse) with the good old Blue Screen! woohoo!

After a bit of research i found out that sometimes third-party software is the cause of this well known windows "Boot Screen" :p
But after uninstalling almost everything the dreaded BSoD (Blue Screen of death) started returning at random times.

My second thought was that either my CPU or GPU was overheating.......nope that was not the issue.

After a BSoD when Windows has started up again it would say "Windows has recovered from a serious error" and gives you the option to view it. Apparently it was a "7f" error......Turns out to be a network thing

Finally it became even more narrowed down when my brother tried connecting to my pc with his Macbook Pro it would give a BSoD. This happend everytime he would connect to the network. It didn't matter if i blocked his IP or that i didn't join the homegroup, it kept BSoDing :p

So whats the solution?

Update your Network drivers to the latest - Don't update it through Windows....Go to the manufacturers website and get your drivers there.

Or

Remove your current drivers and install the drivers given on your motherboard CD.

Or

Another solution i found, and this was the one that worked for me...
Go to device manager and choose roll-back drivers for you Network card. Ended all my problems :D

This is what worked for me :) if you have a different solution then feel free to post it here, or if it helped you then say so :D

Vrede ;)

I've also just recently solved a random BSoD with my win7 64 ultimate...

Over a day or two my ram would always slowly fill up, and looking at the resource usage would never show what process was hogging them. After the ram was full the pc would just get a blue screen and reboot.

This happened over 3 or 4 weeks... I then uninstalled ZoneAlarm firewall which was apparently win7 compatible, and my ram no longer mysteriously fills up and bluescreens no longer occur for me...

That is quite strange. I've come across lots of Google results showing ZoneAlarm interfering with other programs, though i haven't had that problem yet. Sometimes it doesn't let IP's through, then i have to manually allow them.

Kind of annoying but thus far ZoneAlarm is keeping me happy :D
