[SOLVED] Slow speeds on MyGig 20 promo data bundle?

Does anybody know if there is a speed limitation placed on these accounts?

I recently got one to do some steam downloads, but I cannot get anything faster than 384kbps. I have done several speed tests to different servers and they all result in a 0.37mbps download speeds. If I switch over to another sim that is not running on the promo bundle I get speeds far in excess of this. I tried to find some sort of info on their website, but there is absolutely no mention of speed limitations being placed on these promotion accounts.

Don't think there will be any limits but my speed on the 20gig special is also no good, about 25% of the speed that I get with 8ta.

ok my bad, looks like the external antenna I had plugged into my Huawei E367 was causing some problems. It didn't want to connect to HSPA+, but after removing the external and repositioning my dongle so it acquires HSPA+ modulation cause the speeds to jump up drastically. I am now getting a stable 8.8mbps which I am quite happy with.

If I connect via HSUPA the throughput is always 0.37mbps though which is weird as I do get better speeds on a different sim even when only modulating on HSUPA.

Perhaps they are only limiting the throughput on certain modulation types. Anyway, I am quite chuffed now that my speed is at 8.8mbps

Does anyone know how soon after purchasing these bundles do they expire. Does the norm apply which is "the end of the following month from purchase"?.

I bought the 20 gig promo as well and my results vary quite a bit. Sometimes its amazing, other times its consistently poor. My latency will be a stable 430 for a few hours, even if I start a download in the background, then later it will drop to 220 stable latency.

As it stands I wont be purchasing another Vodacom 3G product after this month with the current performance.
