Where I live, there is no fibre and because I only stream telly stuff and didn’t want the download cap, I chose Rain.

I got the rain 5g home standard package just over a week ago.

When I started the router I was having trouble loading web pages and after talking to customer service I was advised to move the router around my flat until finding better speeds. I eventually managed at best to get speeds of 150 Mbps down and about 5-10 Mbps up.

I stream programmes through Netflix, Amazon, Plex and a few other services. Most of the time, there is little problems but if we use our tablets for browsing or YouTube at the same time, the streaming buffers.

Questions I have are as follows:

If speedtest says 150 Mbps down, am I actually getting that speed all the time or is it actually the 50 Mbps that is advertised with the Home standard package?
Does pointing the router in directions where there are walls allow it it to connect to towers in that direction?
If I upgrade to the premium package, would my buffering problems disappear when using multiple devices for streaming etc?

Any advice in getting the best out of my package would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi @dmw
May you please send us a dm with your details and we will assist you further.

Rain you say ?
So you never searched here first before picking them ?
I did look around and chose rain because given my streaming/downloading/gaming habits when I was overseas, I needed something that was uncapped. There is no fiber here and also from what I gather, getting telkom to put in phone line/adsl wasn't going to happen, there wasn't anything else.
Overall its been ok so far, just a small problem which I asked about.

I take it from your comment that either you don't think much of rain or think I am silly for not doing homework before choosing them?
