Hey Guys, I've recently started a diet and fitness routine, and I'm proud enough to say I've been reasonably good in following it so far.
Please could you give me some advice on what I'm doing wrong/right. Let me just first say the objective of this diet is to lose some weight, but more importantly become more healthy. I'm not going to explain the choices for each item (like for example the diet im on advocates smaller servings of butter compared to margarine which is very unhealthy for you).

First off I'm trying to get the most healthy bread possible (not really good on these things but low in fat and carbs e.t.c.) but I can't be going to health shops all the time etc. So at the moment I'm eating the Albany LOW GI Seed Bread that comes in the yellow packet, is this OK?

Breakfast ----
1 Bowl of Jungle Oats, filled with a diced up banana and an apple (yes I've eaten this like every morning and its horrible :P)
Half a small glass of Full Cream milk, shaken up with a half a raw egg (otherwise known as an egg flip, and I share it with my brother)
Half a Piece of Low GI Toast (Mentioned above) with thin scraping of butter.

Lunch------
2 Pieces of Low GI Bread/Toast with light scraping of butter
Sandwich, involved lean smoked chicken/turkey/tuna [I'm a school student]
Also on the sandwich is Tomatoe, Cucumber, Onion, Lettuce e.t.c and also some black pepper (Is pepper bad for you?)
Also, some crumbled cheddar cheese, but its a very small serving of cheese

Afternoon Snack---
A couple of naartjies and another apple

Supper----
Chicken/Beef/Fish (I try to convice my dad not to fry, but its really difficult :) )
Sweet Potatoe/Normal Boiled Potatoe/ White Rice (Which I think is bad)
Either assorted Veggies, or one fresh roasted vegetable (Butternut, Gemsquash, Cauliflower e.t.c.

Please tell me what you think :D

If your primary objective is to lose weight I would recommend holding off on the starches for dinner. White rice is not good, rather try Basmati. Be careful with your veggies, butternut should be avoided. Gemsquash, brocolli, cauliflower, green beans are great though!

Rather try substitute veggies for fruit at the beginning of your diet to lower your sugar intake. Slowly introduce berries and perhaps melon after two weeks.

Try avoiding beef/lamb (only a few times a week). Rather have ostrich, chicken or fish to lower your fat intake, especially at the beginning.

P.S. unless you have some other condition that is a problem regarding pepper it is great for your diet. Try Jalapenos, chillies, ground pepper, Tabasco (be careful of hot sauces with sugar) to increase your metabolism.

You could also try All Bran for breakfast. Even eggs and bacon once or twice a week wouldn't be amiss.

I would recommend adding Omega-3 supplements (Salmon oil) to your diet to increase your metabolism.

Good luck! And try get plenty of exercise.

depending on your current weight and desired weight, i would :

drop the full cream milk to 2% or better yet, fat free - also drop the raw egg. also sub the white rice, for brown.

incl maybe 2-3L of water

also with the oats, try adding some honey to vary the tast
