Some black and white truths

It is a good article - not a perfect article, but definitely a good one.

Agreed.

Unity and progress is the focus here. Sometimes I wonder just what the percentage is of people who are for real progress. It scares me that the leaders of this country often seem to be those least for it. Who do we look up to? Who keeps it all in check?

He makes valid points, but becomes a bit condescending towards whites - essentially treating his white readers as a bunch of Sandton kugels who have never done a hard day's labour in their lives.

I'll agree that MANY of them need to hear it, but it approaches the Hollywood view of Africa where anything "motherlandish" is supposedly mesmerizing.

Yes, we moan a lot. No, we don't always understand ... but don't measure all whites by the same yard stick.

I don't 100% agree with every single statement (I find myself wanting to comment on certain things) but I think this a brilliant article, big up to the writer, he's said things very well.

It is an emotionally topic and I think, for me, being a previously disadvantaged individual, the message to White people is more or less what I feel. It's very hard for me though to relay this to White people myself (and I've tried) without being called a racist. So thanks Grant for relaying something that I can't seem to relay myself.

In the same token, I will accept and take to heart what he has to say about Black people without offering any 'buts' even though I want to raise my hand and say 'but' to some of the comments... I will accept that I do have strong emotions about the topic having gone through the pain of apartheid and even though I can forgive somewhere deep down my heart still hasn't forgotten that pain... But I fully accept that we have to move past that... and think rationally instead of emotionally.

How is he a racist? He has taken the subject from both sides of the fence. Also why is he close minded? Explain please.
