So the first feedback is streaming in for a LMS install I did and some of the feedback is ... worrysome, to say the least.

We have a few students that are struggling to access the site because when they google <login url> they do not get to the site. :wtf:
Probably the same kind of person that types in www.facebook.com into google to access facebook, right?

Some parents are concerned that the student's name is listed under participants under the enrolled course.
Ok. Cool. Permissions changed. But seriously. This is a course where Piet is physically in the class with Sannie and both of them know each other already ... going to spill over to the question/chat function next I guess - parents concerned that other students can see that their little gem is enrolled in the course by way of seeing their name under posts they made in the question thread.

I heard of a previous boss of mine opening IE - typing google into bing - and then googling news24 in order to get to news24.com.

There are idiots aplenty out there...

Then you also get people who register on your site with the email address http://[email protected]

Please, don't forget the http://www. - because that's the crucial crucial part of an email address of course.

This is after having to enter the email address twice. We're now considering getting an api built in for validating email addresses when signing up.

Why wouldn't you make it pleb proof to begin with?

Always code expecting the users to try and break it.

I don't think that's fair. It's a lot easier for people to type words/names than urls, and a majority of people still don't know how to change their web browser's default search provider. Most people just use PCs - they don't want to understand them.
