Hey it is weekend! Seems like some flu bug has struck South Africa again and by the look of the number of people I know on Facebook down for the count it seems like this weekend might well end up as an indoors type of weekend. Couple that with the rain forecasted for large parts of the country, we might well find most of our countrymen preferring to stay indoors.

So this is where I come in. This is my Friday special blog post providing you with some of the webs more interesting destinations for some solid entertainment and fun, not to mention interactivity and socialising. Let’s try and keep Facebook, Twitter and YouTube out of this one for now because they are rather obvious destinations online. Let’s consider them the cornerstones of a good weekend online in bed.

Okay let me start off with something perhaps not entirely in the context of the said aim of this blog, but something that could well give you something to talk about online or around a braai. It is laser cut leaves. Yes, you read right, it is laser cut tree leaves. All natural tree leaves with you can use as your business card or advertising medium. Not only is it bio-degradable but it is awesomely cool!

Now that you have something funky to look and talk about, maybe you want to pull a retro trick out of the bag and IRC a little. IRC is still a very interesting and vibrant place for random chatter. Yes it does have its own rules and structures within certain groups depending on the topic but if you take the time to learn a little and get online with MIRC you can chat from South Africa all the way around the world on different servers to the destination of your choice. Maybe you feel like interacting with New Yorkers or perhaps some Muscovites. Whatever your taste in people, go and find them by visiting www.mirc.com

Everything you need to know is on there. It is amazing what you can find on IRC.

If you follow my blog from time to time you will know that I am not really a big MySpace.com fan. I have however found something really cool on it recently that is worth sharing. It is called Artist on Artist and is basically movie stars interviewing and talking amongst themselves about projects and personal endeavours. Why not pop on over to http://www.myspace.com/artistonartist for more than just a little bit of passing the time? There are some interesting discussions if you are into movies.
Speaking of movies, have you ever taken the time to register on www.IMDB.com? Do yourself a favour and see all the banter about behind the scenes stuff going on in there.

That should get you started. Have a brilliant weekend!
