The Netgear ReadyNas 3200 (2U) 6tb one , it has 12 bays right only six are being used 6x1tb , can I put in any HDD in the remaining 6 bays? eg 6x2tb or 6x1 tb ? do those bays have a bracket for the HDD(im assuming you get all 12) ? and they mention that it is compatible with symantec backup exec is this true? im having difficulty finding more info on it (still awaiting a reply from netgear) Could you recommend another nas (12bays) ?

If it's for small office or personal use, Drobo looks cool, but if you're in a proper server environment, consider a proper SAN storage solution.

It doesnt really use proper raid standards, and I had crap transfer speeds with it..

I used a Western Digital My Book World Edition II on our network and was extremely happy with it. It supports NFS and pretty much anything else.
